How many times have we all felt this? The connection to the world seems to hold us captive and we no longer allow ourselves the freedom to do what we need to do to be better writers and even better human beings. The ability to post thoughts that can be good, bad, and ugly somewhat anonymously and the fact that being connected also means we tend to be buried in our phones and not in each other’s company. I think the thing that will help me the most will be to completely unplug for a period of time and rebuild my writing habit without the social media distraction. I want to write fiction and non-fiction alike in innumerable quantity and the only way I can see to do that is to unplug the social cord and plug in the writing cord. Doing that will be easier said than done, but starting tomorrow, I’m going to create my new daily writing habit.
